City Hall
This project brings together many of Highland Park's currently missing or separated government functions onto one site. The form of the building has been fragmented with inspiration coming from the Cranbrook Academy of Arts. This "breaking" of the building into smaller pieces allows for the creation of intimate courtyards and gathering spaces. This also creates a sense of place and density in a small "drive through" city. Ornamentation has been used to create hierarchy while cultivating a sense of familiarity. Ornamentation has also been used for its ability to connect scales from site down to the smallest detail.
